The present day pretender uyghurs and the ancient uyghurs are two different genetically unrelated peoples, in the same way Native American Indians are not indians of india. Pronunciation

'Uyghurs', mystified by how to say it? I think (as a US American) that it's pronounced "Wee-ger". Using common US pronunciation, not IPA. Modern Uyghurs are karluks

I think this should be added so there will be no confusoion about them being related to acieny uyghurs. Modern uyghurs are descendants of karakhanids who eventually genocided the acient uyghurs of kara del and qocho in the 1400s the acient uyghurs fled to gansu modern Yugurs 2603:8001:8446:6EBB:98C7:51FA:796C:E95E (talk) 20:13, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
